Pulling the cab off a truck might seem like an odd way to R&R a motor, but not in the wacky world of the 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel!

Pulling the cab doesn’t seem so wacky when you consider that the 6.0L engine sits way back in the bay, which makes getting to some components of the powerplant extremely difficult. So, in an effort to save time, Ford tech’s started to pull the cab off the trucks to gain access to those hard to reach spots. It may seem like a lot of work, but someone who has completed a few of these “cab pulls” can have them off in a couple hours. Follow along with this series to determine if you have the mechanical aptitude and necessary equipment to attempt a cab-off motor job on a 6.0L. It isn’t as bad as you might think.
